Meet our Doctors

​​​​​Dr. Boris Dilman is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who treats a broad spectrum of eye diseases, from macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy to glaucoma and cataracts. He has a special interest in LenSx laser assisted cataract surgery with advanced technology intraocular lens implants, such as toric and multifocal lenses. Dr. Dilman also performs glaucoma laser surgery, and has a plethora of experience treating blepharitis and dry eye syndrome.
 
Dr. Dilman graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Loyola University Chicago. He received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Dilman then completed a surgical internship and ophthalmology residency training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He was published several times in peer-reviewed journals and was the chief resident during his training. Dr. Dilman is on staff at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.
 
Dr. Dilman grew up locally in Buffalo Grove, IL. When he’s not busy seeing patients or doing surgery, he is spending time with his wife and three kids. He loves to workout, travel and is an avid Chicago sports fan.

​​​​​Dr. Edward Dolezal is an experienced eye physician who has been practicing ophthalmology in the Crystal Lake and McHenry County area for nearly 30 years. A native of La Grange Park, IL, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and with Bronze Tablet Honors. Afterwards, he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois (UIC) Medical School in Chicago. He then completed a residency in ophthalmology at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at Emory.

Dr. Dolezal specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology with a subspecialty interest in glaucoma. He has expertise in the medical and laser treatment of glaucoma, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy for dry eye syndrome and blepharitis, diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, and ocular emergencies.

A lifelong Cubs fan, Dr. Dolezal attended Wrigley Field for game six of the 2016 NLCS when the Cubs won their first NL pennant in 71 years. Dr. Dolezal is an avid scuba diver who enjoys the activity with his wife and adult children. In addition, he participates in open water swimming events to promote and support his two favorite charities: Swim Across America (SAA) which supports cutting-edge cancer research and A Long Swim (ALS) which supports Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

​​​​​Dr. Abe Kaplan is a board-certified ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience practicing comprehensive ophthalmology. He specializes in cataract surgery, including femtosecond laser assisted surgery. He also has extensive experience with advanced technology toric and multifocal intraocular lenses.

In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Kaplan specializes in eyelid procedures, including ptosis repair, blepharoplasty (both cosmetic and functional), and entropion and ectropion repair. He also has significant experience performing Botox and dermal filler treatments.

Dr. Kaplan earned his Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Washington University in St. Louis. Following college, he spent three years as an elementary math teacher with Chicago Public Schools, an experience that continues to shape his patient-centered approach to care. He strongly believes in connecting with patients, listening attentively to their concerns, and clearly addressing their needs.

He received his Medical Degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. After completing a one-year internship at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Kaplan returned to the University of Chicago to complete his Ophthalmology Residency, where he was honored with the Department’s Outstanding Resident Award.

Dr. Kaplan is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

​​​​​Dr. Nisha Gupta is a board certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist and retinal specialist, working in the Chicago Area since 2016. Her specialty, medical retina, focuses on diseases of the back of the eye without performing surgery.

Dr. Nisha Gupta completed her medical school and residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia. She then finished a fellowship in medical retina at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL.

Dr. Gupta is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is dedicated to taking care of her patients by restoring and preventing their loss of sight. Her hobbies include traveling, baking, and spending time with family and friends

​​​​​Dr. Jane Vilderman is a residency-trained optometrist with experience in comprehensive eye care and ocular disease. She received her bachelor's degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then elected to pursue additional clinical training and completed a residency program in primary eye care and ocular disease at the Illinois Eye Institute.

Eye care is her passion and she values the importance of spending time with patients to educate them about their eye health. She is fluent in Russian and speaks conversational Spanish. 

Dr. Vilderman grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago. She resides in Northbrook with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time with her energetic son and daughter, traveling and seeing live music.

​​​​​Dr. Arub Qureshi is a board-certified optometrist based in Chicago. She specializes in dry eye treatment, blepharitis, comprehensive eye exams, as well as myopia management and specialty contact lenses.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in the Health Sciences from Benedictine University and her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she graduated with clinical honors. Her training includes comprehensive experience in ocular disease, pediatric care, myopia management, and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Qureshi is known for her attentive, patient-centered care and is committed to delivering thorough treatment. She is fluent in Urdu and passionate about making care accessible and inclusive. Outside the clinic, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

​​​​​Dr. Dixit Patel is a board-certified optometrist and Chicago native committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate eye care. He earned his undergraduate degrees from Loyola University Chicago and his Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Patel’s clinical interests include managing patients with glaucoma and dry eye disease; utilizing the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies.

During his rotations, Dr. Patel had the privilege to hone his skills amongst the veteran population at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in North Chicago. Soon after he completed two advanced care rotations at the Illinois Eye Institute with honors.

Dr. Patel is known for his warm and approachable bedside manner. He believes that clear vision starts with a clear conversation, taking the time to listen intently to your concerns and ensuring you feel fully comfortable and understood throughout the visit.

Outside of the office, Dr. Patel enjoys playing and watching sports, hiking and learning golf. He also enjoys travelling and exploring culinary experiences with family and friends.

​​​​​Dr. Shrey Patel is a board-certified optometrist, who earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. During his clinical training, Dr. Patel completed externships at a VA hospital, the Illinois Eye Institute, and a large multidisciplinary MD/OD practice in the New York/New Jersey area, earning honors across all externship rotations. Following optometry school, he completed a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the Fort Wayne VA Hospital in Indiana.

Dr. Patel provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, with clinical interests in geriatric care, urgent eye conditions, dry eye disease, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Patel strongly believes in carefully listening to each patient’s concerns and tailoring treatment plans to address each individual’s specific needs.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Patel enjoys watching Chicago sports teams, hiking, playing sports, traveling, and exploring cuisines from different cultures. He is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi and values building meaningful, long-term relationships with his patients while helping them protect and preserve their vision.
